Dressing Up for What Occasion??

This post is especially for Aunt Libbi.  She has a knack for choosing the best accessories!  Mitchell practically wears his backpack and race car wellies EVERY WHERE he goes.  Yesterday you were lucky enough to see the wellies...well today, you get to see the backpack.  At first he was just playing when I started taking pictures, then he moved onto his snack.  You can kinda see how this whole thing went down in the sequence of pictures.  Once he realized I was taking pictures he decided to ham it up with the pretzels.

Busted...

A mean pretzel killer...

p.s.  he finally got one of his upper secondary molars!!  I noticed this morning that it busted through the gum.  He did much better this time around with cutting this tooth!
Only one more to go and he's all done...wow.

Alfalpha and the Racing Car Wellies

This morning Mitchell woke up with the cutest little sprig of hair sticking straight up from the top of his head.  I couldn't resist...

And he practically goes NO WHERE without his race car wellies...Aunt Libbi sure knows how to pick the best accessories!

Free bonus glimpse of Mangus' parts with the above photo...sorry!

Gotta love the flames in the back!!

Uncle Uncle!!

Yesterday we were supposed to get 9" of fresh, shiny white snow.  But instead we got about 14".  I'm officially crying UNCLE!!  I've had it with Old Man Winter and his weather accessories.  I want greenery, spring bulkb bursting from the earth, and dare I say it...I WANT SWEAT BEADS ON MY FOREHEAD!
So here's what it looks like at chez Koons...

And of course no post is complete without a few goofy pics of my favorite little man...

First Time Sledding

Today we attempted to take Mitchell sledding for the first time.  Successful?  Not so much.  Our child definitely has his preferences as to how he likes things to be (gee, I wonder where he gets that, coming from two Pisces), and he's NOT afraid to let you know what they are.

We made it down the hill 3 times when Mitchell noticed the playground, which was about 3/4 of a mile from where we were.  And that was the beginning of the end...he was fixated on it and nothing else.  Nevermind that we tried explaining to him (repeatedly) that the playground was closed and everything was frozen.  Nope, didn't matter.  So as you will see, there is a clear and distinct progression to a meltdown in these photos.

So far so good...

He actually walked back up the hill by himself...all is still good...

He's actually having some laughs at this point...

Of course we only managed to get one photo of he & I before the meltdown commenced.  Figures...that's the way it always happens!

Okay, here we go...commencing meltdown!!
Somebody come pick me up and carry me!!!
And, THE END.  Final walk back up the hill.
Thank goodness for hot cocoa and warm flames in the fireplace!

Snow Storm Part 2

Well our grand plans for more fun in the snow didn't quite happen today.  The high was only supposed to be 22 degrees...not exactly the most friendly for a 2 1/2 year old.  So instead we decided to use up some leftover Chuck E Cheese tokens and took Mitchell there.  Of course he loved it...

February Snow Storm

Yesterday it started to snow and by the time it finished today we were left with a foot!  And since Mitchell decided he didn't want to nap this afternoon, what a better opportunity to get him out into the cold, brisk air to really wear him out!  It was technically his first (official) time playing in the snow, and two of the older neighbor boys were more than happy to show him the ropes!

And here is the apres snow photo-op inside Koons lodge.  Ya know, he has to be careful of the paparazzi and keep a good cover with those shades!

Tomorrow we're planning on taking him sledding and attempting to build his first snowman.  Wish us luck and stay tuned for more pictures!!
