Mitchell just got his big boy bed 2 weeks ago (full size). Everything has been going tremendously well and he has been SO proud of it...until tonight, just a few moments ago, when, as I was typing, I heard a strange choking noise. So I of course ran downstairs and opened his door only to find NO MITCHELL in his bed...then I realized I was STEPPING ON HIS ARM because he was laying on the floor!!! I think he must have fallen out of it in his sleep and was so disoriented he was gasping for air!
Of course I scooped him up, held him and all was ok...then he said his new thing to me that he's been saying since he got the big boy bed..."stay here Mommy, right here" (as he points to the spot next to him in the bed).
Be still my heart...

Koons' at the Cabin!
Saturday afternoon we went up to the cabin to hang out with the Koons'...it was a great treat as I was able to meet several of the legendary Koons women (specifically Uncle Al's daughters) that I've never met before. The unfortunate part was that my camera ran out of battery well before I had everyone's pictures. So for those of you who don't see yourself in any photos, please don't take offense...
The legendary Unc...whom I adore!
And his companion Pat...
Karen and Brett made it in from New Mexico. We've vacationed with them (and Dallas, Karen's husband) a few times in Colorado. Karen makes the best breakfast burritos I've ever had!
Kathy, who I met for the first time...
And Little Al (Unc's son)...
And of course, the cutest Koons of all!! I make him kiss the frog everytime I can!

Lycoming County Fair 2010
Tonight we went on our 2nd annual outing to the Lycoming Fair...and wow, what a difference a year makes! This time Mitchell was fearless and all about going on rides independently...so who were we to stop him?!?
First up, the bungee jump...
First up, the bungee jump...
He didn't really get the hang of it very well, and I think this fair "host" (we'll just call this person Pat) was getting a little frustrated with Mitchell. He still had a blast all the same.
Then there was this mini-Nicole Kidman he rode the dragon roller coaster with...
Then he tried the kiddie ferris wheel...
I love the moon in this shot!
He loved the helicopter too...
He usually loves the super slide but as you can (barely) see in the above photo, he was not happy to be going with Daddy. He wanted to try it all on his own but just wasn't tall enough. So here's how they ended up when they finally reached the bottom...
Then it was onto the animals...
They had the baby deer again this year!
He kept pushing this little deer's bum and telling him to go over to the other side of the cage with his friends!
And of course you know about me and goats...but how could I resist? This one was smiling for a photo!
Such a fun night! Mitchell was so tired he went right to bed when we got home!

Our wildlife
In addition to the bear sighting a few weeks ago on our back deck and the groundhog that I just found today living under our side deck, we have these slightly less intrusive and more gentle creatures all over our butterfly bushes. I forgot how many monarch butterflies there are in PA...not so much in Ohio. I love taking photos of them...so Ma, this one's for you, since you asked for them.

Millville Carnival
Almost forgot to post these! After Mitchell and I returned from our week in Wachapreague our little fam went to a teeny weeny carnival about a half hour from our new digs. It was so po-dunk but very sweet...most of the rides they had at this "carnival" were actually refurbished by the Boy Scouts of America as their local projects! (and yes, this made me slightly nervous...brought back memories of hearing how everyone goofed off in "shop class" in high school). But never-the-less, we had a buncha fun and met some nice folks...
Perhaps one of my favorite pictures of my very handsome husband...caught in motion on the merry-go-round!
Bewildered while on the train ride and in the tunnel...as the horn was tooting!
Getting ready to go on the swing...ready, set, fun!
And here we are, me stupidly thinking that I could overcome my fear of heights to take my little man on his first ferris wheel ride! My palms were sweating furiously the entire time and I was doing my best to try and not make him nervous as well. I'll leave this one up to daddy from now on, but Mitchell, just so you know, I did this one just for you!!

Beach Days in Virginia
Mitchell and I escaped to MomMom and PopPop Larry's over the 4th of July. Daddy was studying for an exam so it was a perfect excuse to get out of the house and give him some much needed quiet time (lucky for us, not so much for him). Aunt Michelle, Uncle Matt and Maxton also made the trip, so the boys were able to have lots of fun together too!
Blue lips and all...
Love this shot!
This was Mitchell's first time "driving" a boat...with PopPop Larry's help of course. But every boat that rode past Mitchell was sure to shout hello and always yelled "thanks for the ride!" It was a hoot!
kissing a minnow (not actually eating it at it appears here)
The 'ol Grady White in action!
catch of the day...thanks to PopPop Larry and Uncle Matt. This flounder was THE BEST I've ever eaten!
Maxton didn't think the same...
watching PopPop Larry filet the flounder...
hello little cousin...wanna take a bath???
not a bad lookin kid, right??? Those eyes are going to stop girls in their tracks!!
Bean and Maxton taking in the view
On our way back we stopped at Nena's house for the night (how great it is to be able to do that!!)
Mitchell is OBSESSED with watching dogs pee...thus...here he is with Tyson...
What a nice vacation, after all the turmoil and trails of our move! Thanks to MomMom and PopPop Larry! We love you guys!
