Impromptu Rainy Picnic at Camp

Reese called me this afternoon to say he'd be finished with work a bit early and wondered if I'd want to head up to camp for a picnic.  Even though the skies were becoming really dark over the mountain we decided to go for it and head up.  It turned out to be a great time (then again when ISN'T there a great time to be had at camp?!?).

 worm hunting...
okay, I debated whether to post this next picture or not, but I just had to.  One of the things the guys do up at camp is pee off the porch.  So Mitchell is officially a "camp member"...
he was cracking up the entire time-he thought he was too cool.

Easter Weekend Part 2

Easter morning was great for Mitchell-he managed to have 3 Easter baskets awaiting him!

Then it was off to Easter dinner with the Williamsons-we had such a nice time!  The food was GREAT and the kids had a blast at another egg hunt!

Trish made super cute ice cream cone desserts (sans ince cream!) for the kids-I loved them!

...and so did Mitchell!
And look what daddy and I got from Mitchell for Easter-he was so proud that he made it...and so were we!

Easter Weekend Part 1

We kicked off Easter weekend by heading to an Easter Egg hunt.  It felt more like winter when we got there, as it was at the Wheel Inn tucked away in the mountains, but it was still fun.  MomMom and PopPop Larry went and we met Aunt Michele, Uncle Matt and Maxton.  Maxton was a trooper and raked in the candy...Mitchell, not so much-he was cold and finished after about 5 minutes!

Meeting the Easter bunny...
I'm sorry but I think he's super creepy (the bunny, not the kid!)

 Brrrrrrr!!
Definitely a game face for the hunt!

 And, they're off!

This is about the point when he decided he'd had enough!
 One track mind-tootsie rolls!

Then later that day we decorated Easter eggs...

Fun!

First Swimming Lesson!

We started Mitchell on "independent" swimming lessons...yay!  Last summer I tried a water babies class with him but we felt he needed something more independent this year.  At first he didn't want to get in the big pool and just sat on the bleacher with me.  It was the first real pep talk I had to give him.  Then after a few minutes he whispered in my ear, "mommy, I think I can try now".  Be still my heart!!  So here he is...you'd never know by the photos that he was intimidated!
