Fourth of July

We had a great holiday weekend...we went to "the crick" on the 4th in the afternoon, then went home and got ready for the fireworks and festivites later that evening.  Mitchell did really well in the water-he loved sliding down the rocks and floating into Daddy's arms.  While we were there we met an interesting couple...the man had moved here from Colorado and had a "lady-friend" visiting from Ecquador.  With her was her 5 year old son, neither of which spoke very good English (yes, raise eyebrows here).  But when you're 3 and 5 you don't need a common language other than fun to make a friend, so Mitchell and Fernando hit it off and played together in the creek for quite a while...

Here's our prime real estate...the best spot along the creek!

So later that night when we got to the festivities downtown and settled into our spot, getting cozy with our blanket, chairs and a picnic, we were all VERY suprised to run into Fernando, his mom, and mystery Colorado man!!  Mitchell and Fernando recognized eachother immediately and they ran to one another and this is what happened...

See, no common language needed to make a friend!

We also ran into Devon and Cole.  They are Reese and Matt's Littles...a la Big Brothers/Little Brothers.  We do a lot with both of them since they're brothers and Matt is a good friend of ours.  Devon is pictured below-Cole ran off before I could get one with him.
 Let the magic begin...

God Bless the USA!!
