August Weekend at Camp

We were invited by Josh Fogelman to spend the weekend at camp with his family.  We had a blast...little did we know such a wonderful time was the prelude leading up to an extremely challenging week.

He LOVED swinging over the pond...he couldn't get enough.
Mitchell shot his bb gun for the first time...it was a gift from Pop Pop when he was born, so it's been waiting patiently to be used.  Mitchell calls it his "baby" gun.

There are always lots of hummingbirds at the front porch...

And here is Mangus on his last day with us.  During past few weeks he grew weaker and had balancing issues so we knew the time was near.  He was able to spend his last few nights at camp and I don't think a dog could ask for much more than that.  The morning we left I took him into the living room (of the cabin) with a giant handful of carrots and ring bologna.  I sat with him and let him eat every last bit.  I even gave him a tastykake when he was fhinished.  He crawled up onto the sofa and quickly slouched to sleep with a full belly.  We miss him tons.

Later that day we brought him back to camp where he's resting at Bernie's Lookout.  The perfect spot.
